From a recent study:
Musculoskeletal disorders secondary to occupational overuse are highly prevalent in many professions. Repeated injury is associated with chronic inflammation and fibrosis in tissues undergoing chronic injury/repair processes.
➡️Fibrosis is overgrowth, hardening, and/or scarring of various tissues.
A study on rats, who performed repetitive reaching task and then received manual therapy showed that manual/massage therapies can reduce tissue inflammation, fibrosis as well as maintained grip strength.
The study results provide clear evidence that manual therapy provided across several weeks during active performance lowers nerve, muscle, and tendon inflammation and fibrogenic processes.
I frequently say, that the body is the best tool we have got and we need to look after it. So, what’s your body maintenance?
