Wanaka is a place of active people who enjoy all the outdoor pursuits whether it’s skiing or snowboarding, mountain biking or trail running, swimming or kayaking, and much more, so getting on top of aches and pains is essential.
Rehab training is a great way to continue to enjoy an active lifestyle for those with chronic injuries/conditions.
The training I offer has a strong focus on quality and pain-free movement. My experience in musculoskeletal rehabilitation gives me in-depth knowledge about various injuries and conditions as well as a safe way of training.
I offer in-depth musculoskeletal assessment to identify functional targets and an individual & highly specific approach to your needs by using strength and neuromuscular training, mobility exercises and self-myofascial release as well as Pilates.
What 1:1 training options are available?
REHAB TRAINING :: is a safe training option for those recovering from chronic injuries/conditions as well as at a later stage post-surgery rehab to get back to the pre-injury state. It includes strength and functional training using various equipment as well may include some Pilates or Redcord suspension training.
REDCORD SUSPENSION TRAINING :: is advanced neuromuscular training using suspension slings. This training is suitable for those wanting to improve their core strength, as well as those with chronic lower back, neck, hip pain and other musculoskeletal conditions. Redcord system allows adjusting the difficulty from therapeutic to challenging.
PILATES :: is core strengthening and postural improvement based on neutral spine and correct breathing principles. Pilates uses low-impact flexibility and muscular strength and endurance movements. Pilates focuses on proper postural alignment, core strength and muscle balance. Equipment used – small props, bands and Swissball.
If you want to see the change, consistency is the key. There are no shortcuts to the success. I recommend to focus on long-term goals rather than a quick fix. From the very beginning we start building your own programme so you can work more independently. As much as possible I will provide you with either your own specific exercises or resources for independent training.
In either case, also a 1000 mile journey starts with just one step.
